What do you want to know?
I am excited to share a varied range of my cake decorating knowledge with you at my custom designed studio in Pukekohe and here I have answered some of the most commonly asked questions about my classes:
How much experience do I need?
Many of the classes are suitable for complete beginners but some are directed to the more experienced decorator and this is noted on each course description.
How do I know if the class is suitable for me?
Please read the details of each class prior to booking as this will give you a good indication of whether the skill level and elements covered are suitable for your personal requirements. Kindly note that the pace of the class will not be altered to adapt to less experienced cake decorators who have booked a more advanced class.
How do the classes operate?
Each class is a combination of demonstrations, practical learning and, where necessary, one-2-one instruction – I find this ensures everyone gets the most benefit from the skills shown.
How many people attend each class?
My custom designed teaching studio can accommodate up to 9 students, meaning that the classes are large enough for lots of laughs and plenty of engaging atmosphere but small enough to ensure that each student gets adequate one-2-one attention where necessary.
What happens if I can’t attend the class?
Your deposit payment secures your class place and is not refundable/transferable under any circumstances - any remaining funds paid (over and above the deposit payment) can be transferred onto another class or refunded into your nominated NZ bank account.
What happens if Strawberry Sky cancel the class?
If a class is cancelled by Strawberry Sky your funds are protected and you will be offered a refund/transfer.
After the class, can I e-mail questions to you about cake decorating?
If your question is not addressed in the comprehensive notes, you can ask me anything at all relating to the class you have attended.
Do you offer one-2-one learning?
Do you also make cakes for sale?
Do you sell vouchers?
Yes, our printable vouchers make the perfect gift for an enthusiastic cake decorator and you can purchase as many increments of $25, $50 and $100 as you would like right here. Once the order is received you will be sent a printable PDF version that you can give to the recipient. Vouchers have an expiry of 24 months from the date of issue and can be used against any available class – they are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Redeeming your voucher is very easy and instructions are present on the PDF copy. Please just mark in the notes section of your booking, the name of the person that the voucher is going to.
Do you teach children?
My classes are directed towards adult learning (age 16 upwards). Some of the classes are suitable for younger children and this will be stated in the class description. However, kindly note that children younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult and the full course fee is applicable to both.
Do you host parties?
I can host cake decorating parties of a 2½ hour duration for up to 8 people at my studio in Pukekohe for a range of special occasions or small team building events. I have a selection of designs available for you to choose from – ranging from children’s birthday parties to bridal and baby showers.
Kindly note that, as classes are held in the studio at the weekend, parties are only available Monday-Friday (excluding public holidays) between the hours of 10am-8.30pm and are subject to availability. If you would like to enquire about a party date or request more information please use our event enquiry form here
